Registering a new opportunity

Starting a draft

An Opportunity Officer starts a new opportunity by entering its core information: title, summary and description, sector and sub-sector, investment type, location, strategic objectives, estimated value and currency, priority, and expected close date. While the opportunity is in Draft, all of this information can be edited freely.

Building out the picture

  • Add supporting documents to the opportunity's document library as they become available.
  • Refine the summary and description as the opportunity's scope becomes clearer.
  • Coordinate with colleagues before moving the opportunity out of Draft, since editing becomes restricted once screening begins.

Moving forward

Once the core information is in good shape, the opportunity is submitted for review, which starts the screening stage. From that point, further changes to the core fields are limited, and screening is where the eligibility, strategic alignment, feasibility, and risk of the opportunity are formally assessed.
