Opportunity review and approval
Screening
Once an opportunity is submitted, it is screened against eligibility, strategic alignment, feasibility, and risk. The reviewer records notes for each area and an overall recommendation, then marks the screening complete — a recommendation is required before screening can be finished.
Moving through approval
Certain forward moves in an opportunity's lifecycle require a formal decision rather than a single person acting alone. When this happens, the opportunity enters a pending-approval state and an approval request is automatically opened for the right decision-makers, based on the platform's configured approval rules.
Approval decisions
A reviewer with approval authority can approve, reject, return the opportunity for more information, or ask a clarifying question. Every decision is recorded with a comment, so the reasoning behind the outcome is preserved. If approved, the opportunity automatically advances to its next stage; if rejected or returned, it goes back for rework.
You can track anything awaiting your decision from the Approvals area — see "Approvals and decision workflow" for how approval requests and delegation work across the platform.
Structuring readiness
Later in the lifecycle, before an opportunity can be marked ready to move into contracting, a structuring readiness checklist covering the business case, financial model, legal review, commercial terms, and risk allocation must be fully complete.
